Director: John Watts

Starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Austin Abrams and Amy Ryan.

In the hotel lobby, District Attorney Margaret meets an attractive young man and decides to spend time with him in her room. However, the evening quickly takes a dark turn: the young man, who has overdosed on drugs, passes out and shows no signs of life. In a panic, Margaret decides to call a "cleaner"—a specialist who, for a hefty fee, helps remove evidence without asking questions. When the man arrives, he begins his work, but soon another "cleaner" enters the room. He was summoned by the worried hotel manager. Now, two independent professionals must work together to sort out the situation before things get even more complicated. Director Jon Watts, known for his work on the Spider-Man trilogy with Tom Holland, has made a new film called "The Lone Wolves." Apple produced the project, which stars two renowned actors, George Clooney and Brad Pitt. Both stars not only star in the film but also served as producers. Their chemistry, which audiences have seen since "Ocean's Eleven," remains strong. This film is worth watching if only for the scenes between Clooney and Pitt, as well as their witty dialogue, which adds a special twist.

Fall 1980, Texas. Jake, a college freshman and the youngest member of the baseball team, meets other players a week before the start of the school semester. The guys decide to have a good time, despite the strict prohibition of the coach, who categorically disapproves of parties and inviting girls to the dorm. However, this is unlikely to be a deterrent for young, fun-loving filmmakers.

Richard Linklater has received five Oscar nominations and two Silver Bears at the Berlinale. He is considered one of the most prominent filmmakers exploring everyday life in contemporary American cinema. His films often feature rather conventional plots. His work can be classified as a chronicle of life. In the film "To Each His Own," the characters simply exist on the screen: they joke with each other, discuss trivial matters, find themselves in various situations and enjoy life, and the viewer experiences these moments with them.

New York, 1990. Jonathan Larson is a gifted composer who has not yet achieved wide recognition. During the day, he earns a living working as a waiter in a small cafe, and at night he immerses himself in dreams of Broadway. He directs all his efforts to creating the musical "Superbia", the action of which takes place in the distant future. The protagonist, about to turn thirty, finds himself trapped in his own thoughts and worries about the future. Meanwhile, his former neighbor and best friend, Michael, has chosen the path of stability and immersed himself in the world of corporate work. His girlfriend, Susan, a talented dancer, is eager to launch her career in another city and invites Jonathan to go with her. In light of these events, Larson increasingly begins to doubt whether he made a mistake in remaining true to his art. The film is based on the life of composer and playwright Jonathan Larson, as well as his semi-autobiographical musical "Tick-tock... BOOM!" To truly portray Jonathan Larson, Garfield had to master vocal skills from scratch. He dedicated almost an entire year to this process, eventually becoming able to perform all the songs on his own and accompany himself on the piano. If you look at the archival footage of Larson, it becomes obvious that Andrew has successfully adopted his manner of communication, movement, and behavior.

Viago, Deacon, Vladislav and Petyr are not just neighbors, but also good friends who live in an old building in Wellington. Each of them has unique characteristics: Viago is a meticulous empath, Deacon is a warm and friendly guy, Vladislav is a cunning sociopath, and Petyr rarely leaves his basement. Furthermore, they are all vampires, who need to regularly replenish their immortality with fresh blood. Every night, they board a city bus and head downtown in search of potential victims, followed by a cadre of documentary filmmakers, capturing their unusual adventures on camera.

The film, made in the mockumentary style, offers a completely different perspective on vampires: they are presented not as creepy creatures of the night, but as comical characters striving to integrate into human society. The main characters face a variety of everyday problems, from household chores to organizing an annual ball for supernatural beings. The film transforms outdated myths about bloodsuckers into an ironic yet touching story about life in today's world.

Director: Marc Webb

The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Zooey Deschanel, Geoffrey Arend, Chloe Grace Moretz, Matthew Gray Gubler, Clark Gregg and Patricia Belcher.

Tom Hansen, a young man who makes a living writing texts for greeting cards, has always dreamed of a career as an architect. One day, his life changes when a new employee appears in the office - charming blue-eyed Summer. At first sight, Tom falls in love with her and is convinced that she is his destiny. Their relationship evolves, going through various stages: from a romantic beginning to periods of tension and misunderstanding. This continues for 500 days.

Marc Webb's first film appears to be an homage to classic melodramas, but in reality, it reinterprets the genre's familiar conventions. Throughout the story, the viewer sees events exclusively through the prism of the protagonist. Dreamy music and absurd episodes only emphasize the awkwardness of artificial romance, which is inevitably followed by routine everyday life.

At first, everything goes according to plan, but soon strange things begin to happen on stage: the image glitches, the medium begins to feel ill, and the girl suddenly speaks in a low, age-uncharacteristic voice, sending everyone packing. A group of students, passionate about social life and luxury, decide to spend the weekend in a secluded mansion, located far from the bustle of the city. Their plans include a fun party with dancing and alcohol, which has become a habit for them. During their vacation, they decide to play a game called "Bodies, Bodies, Bodies." The rules are simple: players draw lots, and the one who gets a cross becomes the "killer"—of course, it's just a joke. The "killer" must secretly eliminate the other players, trying to avoid being noticed. However, what begins as harmless fun quickly escalates into true horror: a dead body is discovered among them—the owner of the mansion. Panic descends upon the group, and the friendly atmosphere quickly disappears, giving way to paranoia and mutual suspicion. "Bodies, Bodies, Bodies" is not only a slasher film but also a provocative satirical thriller that ironically addresses the fears of various generations, including Zoomers and millennials. The film stars: Alfie Williams, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes and Edwin Ryding.

Almost thirty years ago, Great Britain faced an epidemic of a mysterious virus. People who became its victims turned into fast and strong bloodthirsty creatures, and soon the whole country found itself in the center of a zombie apocalypse. The few survivors sought shelter in the most remote corners of the island. In one of these isolated communities in the north, twelve-year-old Spike lives with his father, Jamie, and mother, Isla. The woman is seriously ill, and Spike decides to search for the legendary Dr. Kelson, rumored to lurk in the dead wastelands.

Discussions about a sequel to the famous zombie franchise, helmed by director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland, began actively back in 2007, immediately after the premiere of the second film, 28 Weeks Later. However, due to conflicts and copyright issues, it took nearly two decades to develop the new project. Now it has been revealed that the creators are planning a trilogy. The second part of the updated series, entitled "28 Years Later: Temple of Bones", is expected in early 2026.

Country: Japan

Director: Hayao Miyazaki

Starring: Yuria Nara, Hiroki Doi, Tomoko Yamaguchi.

Ponyo is a tiny magical fish, the daughter of a powerful sorcerer and a sea goddess. Running away from her underwater home, she meets five-year-old Sosuke, who lives on the coast with his mother. Sosuke finds Ponyo washed up on the shore and decides to give her a name. Gradually, a strong friendship develops between them, which eventually blossoms into romantic feelings. Fascinated by the human world, Ponyo dreams of becoming human so she can always be with Sosuke. Seeking to fulfill her dream, she uses her father's magic to transform herself into a girl, but this action upsets the natural balance and could lead to an ecological disaster. Now Ponyo faces a choice: return to the sea as her true form or leave the depths forever.

"Ponyo on the Cliff" is undoubtedly one of Hayao Miyazaki's simplest and most childish films. Nevertheless, its plot will be interesting for both adults and children: parents will appreciate the elegance of metaphors inherent in the Japanese animator, and the little ones will get acquainted with the themes of tolerance, loyalty and love.

Director: Makoto Shinkai.

The film stars: Kenji Mizuhashi, Yoshimi Kondo and Satomi Hanamura.

The coming-of-age story of the central character, Takaki Tohno, unfolds in three interconnected short stories, united by a thin thread of memories. The first part serves as the basis for a complete understanding of the entire work. Viewers first meet Takaki in his childhood years, when his tender affection for a girl named Akari begins to form. However, due to the Takaki family's constant movements, the characters grow increasingly distant with each passing year, and soon their bond is completely severed. Their reunion awaits them only many years later, when only shadows of their former feelings remain in their memories.

Makoto Shinkai's works occupy a unique niche in Japanese animation. They are distinguished by their gentle poetry, light melancholy, and deep emotional undertones. Shinkai readily tackles complex themes, but does so with astonishing ease and grace, encouraging viewers to believe in miracles and find the strength to begin a new life. Instead of loud statements and high-flown words, he tells stories about ordinary teenagers who face the challenges of growing up, experience first love, and search for their place in this world.

A fox named Mister Fox, known for his cunning and ingenuity, was actively involved in stealing chickens in the past, sowing fear among local farmers. However, after the birth of his son, he changed his life: he found a steady job and built a cozy den. Nevertheless, memories of his old exploits haunt this restless fox, and he decides to return to his former pursuits. But over the years, the farmers have become more vicious and are ready to oppose his plans.

The film is based on the novel "The Amazing Mr. Fox" by renowned British author Roald Dahl. This is the first work of renowned director Wes Anderson in the stop-motion genre, which is distinguished by its meticulous attention to the smallest details: real trees and sand are used, and the actors' voices were recorded on real locations. Anderson's style is clearly evident in every scene. It seems that working with animation inspired the director so much that in 2018 he presented his second animated film, Isle of Dogs.

Originally programmed to help people and meet their needs, Roz faces a problem: there are no clients in the wild. In response to this situation, she quickly masters the skills of communicating with the local fauna and unexpectedly finds a lost gosling, left without parents. Rose decides to care for the little chick, teaching it to swim and fly, providing food and protection. A fox named Fink becomes the gosling's second, albeit unwelcome, "guardian." Initially intending to view the gosling as potential prey, he soon relents and accepts the little one into his "family."

The director of this work is Chris Sanders, who became known for such animated films as "Lilo & Stitch," "How to Train Your Dragon," and "The Croods." For these works, he was nominated for an Oscar three times. His new project has received widespread positive reviews from both critics and audiences, making it onto various lists of the best animated films of 2024 and was considered a leading Oscar contender. Despite the fact that "The Wild Robot" could not win the coveted gold statuette, it confidently took its place among the most memorable cartoons of the year.
