A few weeks later, I found myself on the other side of the world with a laptop in my backpack and a gym bag, without any clear plans for the future. Chiang Mai became the perfect place for me, combining low prices, a pleasant climate, and a rich culture. This city offers unique opportunities for working remotely and enjoying life.

My travels through Thailand and the Philippines became an important part of my self-discovery. Although this term may sound clichéd, it accurately reflects my state of mind at the time. I quit my job at the agency, where I held the positions of team lead and architect. Now I worked only a few hours a day, which allowed me to lead a minimalist life and devote time to meditation. These changes opened up new horizons for me and allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of myself and my desires.

By developing in areas such as tourism, agriculture, and technology, Cambodia can attract investment and create new jobs, which will contribute to sustainable economic growth and improve living standards.

For me, a full working day now consists of just one activity per month – sending invoices to partners. This change in approach to work allows me to plan my time flexibly and improve business efficiency.

My usual daily routine can be described as relaxing downshifting. In the morning, I wake up and head to a cafe for breakfast, where I enjoy the delicious food and atmosphere. Afterwards, I prefer to take a walk; upon returning home, I devote time to training courses, swimming, gaming, or meditation. This lifestyle continues until sunset, and I may have several business conversations during the day. This routine helps me maintain a balance between work and rest, as well as develop my skills and stay calm.

Sometimes ideas for a new product come to me, and at such moments my day changes dramatically. I immerse myself in work: I wake up, start coding, take a lunch break, and then return to development again until the project is completed. This creative process completely captivates me, filling me with energy and inspiration.

My business cannot be called an example of a successful enterprise. In our region, earning opportunities are significantly fewer than in cities like Surgut or Langepas, where oil revenues provide a high standard of living. In Southeast Asia, even English teachers can earn good money, but the concept of a "decent income" is quite relative here. On the one hand, you can live comfortably on $500, but on the other, there is always an opportunity to spend money. I have yet to meet large businessmen who would earn millions. Perhaps I'm just looking in the wrong places.

Understanding the local market and economic characteristics can help in finding successful business ideas. Researching the needs of the population and identifying niches in which to develop can be the key to success.

Entertainment and Gastronomy in Cambodia

Cambodia, with its cultural heritage and quiet corners, is an excellent choice for those seeking peace and harmony.

Cambodia offers a variety of culinary opportunities that can surprise even the most sophisticated gourmets. The local cuisine may seem unusual, but many Europeans quickly find their favorite dishes there. The culinary selection here is significantly wider than in neighboring Thailand. The country boasts numerous family-run restaurants run by both locals and foreigners, creating a unique atmosphere and allowing for a deeper cultural immersion. Be sure to try traditional dishes to enjoy the true taste of Cambodia.

Cambodia has many restaurants offering European cuisine, including German and Italian. I often choose such establishments, since local dishes do not always meet my preferences. However, it is worth noting that the variety of local fruits is truly impressive - they are always fresh and natural.

I cannot share personal experience with local alcohol, since I do not drink. However, my friends who have tried various drinks note their high quality. In addition to local varieties, the country has a variety of imported alcoholic beverages, which allows everyone to find something to suit their taste.

For me, active recreation is associated with playing frisbee. I support the local team, which brings me pleasure and allows me to enjoy this activity away from noisy parties and clubs. Most importantly for me are meditation and the tranquility of the ocean, which create an atmosphere of harmony and peace. Outdoor games like Frisbee not only promote physical activity but also help find inner balance, making them an ideal choice for those who value both active and relaxing recreation.

Cambodia, despite its shortcomings, is a unique destination where tranquility meets rich cultural diversity. It is an ideal destination for travelers seeking solitude and new experiences.
