The fashion search engine Tagwalk analyzed over 11,000 images from the Spring/Summer 2024 shows held in New York, London, Milan, and Paris. The results showed that the number of minimalist looks increased by 46% compared to the Spring/Summer 2023 season. This increase highlights the relevance of a minimalist aesthetic in contemporary fashion, reflecting the desire for simplicity and elegance among designers and consumers.

The number of products with logos decreased by 52%, while searches for the tag "1990s" increased by 42%. This tag became the most popular in search engines.

The Mini Trend

This season, we can expect a trend for mini versions of clothing, including mini dresses, mini skirts, and mini shorts. This style was prominently featured at Sabato de Sarno's debut show for Gucci. Mini designs subsequently appeared with ruffles in the Miu Miu and Chanel collections, as well as in a 1970s-inspired vinyl version at Louis Vuitton for Spring/Summer 2024. Sexy and sculptural silhouettes from Mugler and Weinsanto, emphasizing femininity and individuality, were particularly eye-catching. Miniwear is becoming a bold fashion statement, allowing for experimentation with looks and the creation of unique styles. Minidresses from Chanel, Miu Miu, and Versace are inspired by 1960s style, while John Galliano at Maison Margiela combines punk and baroque. Also popular this season are rock-n-roll-inspired short shorts, like those seen at Tom Ford. These trends highlight a return to bright and extravagant elements of fashion, creating unique looks for modern women.

Lingerie Games

Kanye West initially distanced himself from pants, and soon they began to disappear from the catwalks, giving way to underwear. This trend is perfect for the daring and those who consider mini shorts excessive for the hot summer season. While it's hardly an office choice, the Marni model, paired with a camisole, evokes images of Zoom meetings during the pandemic. Bra tops are becoming an increasingly popular wardrobe staple for daring fashionistas. Acne Studios offers an interesting solution: wear them over a T-shirt for a unique look. For those who aren't afraid to attract attention, sheer dresses have become a real hit. This trend was seen not only at the shows of renowned brands like Givenchy, Alaïa, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, and Dior, but also on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival. An essential part of modern fashion, bra tops and sheer dresses are confidently gaining a place in the wardrobes of fashion enthusiasts around the world.

White is a hit Summer 2023 will be marked by the popularity of white in fashion. Pure white: the influence of color on brand perception

Color plays a key role in shaping a brand's image and its perception by consumers. Symbolizing purity, simplicity, and freshness, white is a color that can create a positive first impression. It is associated with minimalism and elegance, making it ideal for many industries, including fashion, technology, and healthcare.

Using white in brand design helps other elements, such as logos and graphics, stand out, and creates a sense of space and freedom. This can significantly enhance the appeal of a product or service. White also evokes trust and is associated with quality, which is especially important in a competitive environment.

However, it is important to keep in mind that the perception of white can vary depending on cultural contexts and the target audience. Therefore, when developing a brand strategy, it is necessary to carefully analyze how white will be perceived by your potential customers.

In conclusion, the choice of white in brand design can significantly impact its perception. When used correctly, this color helps create the image of a reliable and modern brand, which in turn contributes to customer attraction and retention.

This color took center stage in the Valentino collection, which began with eight consecutive white looks. Recreating this trend is not particularly difficult, but it is much more difficult to keep it perfectly white throughout the evening.

As much as possible Summer 2024 will be marked by a floral trend, with roses being particularly prominent. While there have been numerous jokes about the banality of floral prints and dresses with bright roses, it's worth noting that they even appeared at the Balmain show. Olivier Rousteing, who experienced the theft of his collection just days before the show, recalled Gertrude Stein's famous 1913 poem: "A rose is a rose." And it's hard to disagree. Roses remain a symbol of elegance and romance, making them an ideal choice for a summer wardrobe.

Sign and Meaning: Plants and Their Parts

Plants play a key role in the ecosystem and have diverse meanings across cultures. Each part of a plant—whether root, stem, leaf, flower, or fruit—carries a specific symbolic meaning. Roots represent stability and connection to the earth, while stems symbolize growth and development. Leaves are often associated with life and renewal, and flowers with beauty and romance. Fruits, in turn, represent abundance and fertility.

Furthermore, plants are used in various practices and rituals, which gives them additional value. For example, in medicine, plants serve as a source of medicines, and in cooking, they serve as ingredients for a variety of dishes. Understanding the symbolism of plants and their parts can enrich our perception of nature and deepen our connection with the world around us.

Learning about plant meanings is also useful for gardeners and landscape designers, who can use plant symbolism to create harmonious and meaningful spaces. Given the diversity of plants and their parts, it's important to explore their meanings to maximize their use in life and art.

Simone Rocha embraced the transparency trend by sewing real roses into her dresses. Hopefully, the thorns were removed beforehand. Alexander McQueen maintained its uniqueness with a dress that simultaneously resembled a bud and a vulva, highlighting its commitment to provocative design.

Traction to gold

Metallic shades are once again at the peak of popularity, especially before the Olympic Games, when the catwalks shine like never before. The Ralph Lauren collection presented looks reminiscent of liquid gold, and Tom Ford surprised not only with dresses, but also stylish suits in metallic tones. This trend is sure to stay relevant for several seasons, making it a great choice for the New Year holidays. Metallic elements in clothing add sophistication and brightness, which is especially important during the holiday season.

A Lot of Denim

Designers are finding ways to transform denim from a down-home staple into a luxury icon, using it in new contexts and combinations. A key element of this process has been the expansion of the denim range, which is now offered in a variety of styles and finishes. In this context, the 150th anniversary of the iconic Levi's 501 jeans only underscores the relevance and appeal of denim, fueling its growing popularity. Denim is thus becoming not only everyday wear but also a work of art, opening up new horizons for its use in the fashion industry.Valentino presented a great summer look with jeans crafted in a large, openwork weave. At Balenciaga, Demna Gvasalia paired a light denim jacket and wide-leg trousers with a tulle top, creating a unique style. Schiaparelli paired wide-leg trousers in raw Japanese denim with a mini couture jacket, demonstrating an elegant approach to contemporary trends. These looks highlight current trends in summer fashion and emphasize the combination of textures and styles.

The 1990s are back

With the looming recession, bold colors and bright logos are losing their relevance, giving way to a restrained and sophisticated style. Minimalism is becoming a preferred design direction, reflecting modern realities. Camel-colored pencil skirts, gray tuxedos, white shirts, and boyfriend jeans are trending. These pieces are featured at key brands such as Proenza Schouler, Max Mara, Bottega Veneta, and Gucci. Understated chic is becoming a symbol of a new era, emphasizing elegance and practicality in everyday fashion.
