Lightshop Studio developed a tourism brand for the Tyumen Region to attract tourists. The symbol of the new style is a carved window frame, embodying the region's unique culture. Yugra: A New Look at Investments and business

In April 2021, the investment brand of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra was presented at the international exhibition "Innoprom". This project, created by the Novosibirsk agency Melekhov and Filyurin, represents a significant step toward attracting new investors and supporting existing businesses in the region. The development of the investment brand is aimed at increasing the attractiveness of Yugra as a business location, thereby promoting the district's economic development and creating new jobs. The investment brand is designed to attract entrepreneurs and investors interested in developing businesses in the district. The new brand combines a serious and friendly approach, making it appealing to a diverse audience. Effective positioning and clear communication help increase interest in the region's investment opportunities, promoting its economic growth and development. Modern territorial marketing focuses on attracting investment. However, the target audience of investors is often heterogeneous. We set ourselves the task of creating an investment brand that would function effectively at various levels and interact with diverse investor groups. This will allow us not only to attract capital but also to create a lasting image of the region as an attractive investment destination.

Vladimir Tomko, project manager, announced the creation of a unique product for the Russian market—a regional investment brand. This brand has become an umbrella for various development institutions and government agencies shaping Yugra's investment climate. We have abandoned traditional stereotypes and avoided using ethnic and natural motifs in the design. This allows us to more effectively represent the region and attract investment, emphasizing its modernity and potential.

The logo of Ugra includes two key components: the symbol and the slogan "Ugra Open For" or "Ugra is open for". Since the project's launch in late May 2021, the Izhevsk typeface has been created through collaboration between Paratype studio and the Center for Territorial Development of the Udmurt Republic. This typeface reflects the city's unique identity and cultural characteristics, emphasizing the importance of local distinctive style in contemporary design. The typeface's development aims to improve visual communication and support Izhevsk's branding, making it a significant element in promoting the region.

For Izhevsk's anniversary in 2020, a significant study of the city's visual heritage was conducted, collecting city signs, packaging, and logos of local manufacturers. The collected materials formed the basis for the development of a new city typeface that reflects Izhevsk's unique character and cultural traditions. The new font not only emphasized the city's visual identity but also marked an important step in preserving its historical heritage.

Work on the city's identity emphasized the importance of fonts, especially in the context of the launch of the second stage of the design code governing address signs. This created the need to develop a unique design that would be enshrined in the Improvement Rules. Establishing clear font standards will not only improve the visual perception of the urban environment but also enhance navigation for residents and visitors.

Initially, purchasing a ready-made font was considered, but the high cost of licensing made it unaffordable. Therefore, the decision was made to create a unique font inspired by Izhevsk's rich visual heritage. This approach will not only save money but also reflect the city's cultural and historical characteristics in the font design. Developing a custom font will be an important step in creating a unique visual style that will emphasize Izhevsk's identity and draw attention to its cultural traditions.

Vyacheslav Pravdzinsky, Director of the Center for Territorial Development of the Udmurt Republic, emphasized the importance of developing a font that will support the Udmurt language. This development required the introduction of additional special characters to accurately reflect the language's peculiarities.

The font concepts were created by Izhevsk designers during a workshop held at the Reforma School of Practical Design under the direction of Alexandra Korolkova and Nikolai Nedashkovsky. As part of the project, we are focusing on creating a unique visual style that emphasizes the festive atmosphere and attracts the attention of residents and visitors. The use of a variety of fonts effectively conveys the mood of the events and creates a memorable image of the holiday.

The fonts will be available for free use, but their use is limited to non-commercial projects in Izhevsk. Entrepreneurs can enter into agreements for the use of fonts in souvenirs. This will allow for design diversity and increased product appeal, while respecting copyright and local initiatives.

Nickel: A New Look at the Border Settlement

The primary focus of development is currently on the border service economy and tourism. Asmysl, a company specializing in branding northern territories, has developed a new brand aimed at attracting tourists and investors. This brand is capable of creating a positive image of the region and highlighting its unique advantages, which, in turn, will facilitate the active development of tourism infrastructure and increase investment. Nikel is located on the border with Norway and Finland, making it an attractive destination for tourists. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the town was popular with Norwegians seeking affordable fuel, food, and medical services. However, the lack of overnight accommodations curbed the flow of visitors. Therefore, the new development strategy will focus on improving services and creating comfortable living conditions. This will not only increase the number of tourists but also boost the regional economy by offering a variety of services and entertainment.

As part of the new brand, numerous elements have been created, including an international navigation system, a website, and a tourist information center. These developments will help effectively present the unique opportunities of Nikel and attract tourists.

Asmysla designers drew inspiration from the slogans that form the foundation of the brand. The slogan "The Road to Russia" is aimed at tourists from Northern Europe, while "The Road to Scandinavia" is addressed to residents of Russia. These phrases reflect the brand's strategy, emphasizing the cultural ties and tourism opportunities between the regions.

The Nikel logo, in which the word Nikel is emphasized by a repeating letter "i," symbolizes dynamic development and growth. This design element not only attracts attention but also effectively conveys the village's updated identity, opening up new horizons and opportunities for residents and visitors.
