Expansive dresses with puffed sleeves, corsetry, fur elements, porcelain tableware, pearl jewelry, scarves, embroidery on a frame, symbols of prosperity, as well as silk and velvet texture - all this makes up the atmosphere of the fantasy style of the pre-revolutionary era, called "Old money a la Russe".

We have combined brands, couturiers and places that will allow you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the aristocracy of the late nineteenth century.

The Maltsov Crystal Factory in Gusev: history and Traditions

Crystal for the aristocracy.

The Gus Crystal Factory is one of the oldest manufacturers in Russia, founded in 1756. After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the enterprise faced serious difficulties, and its survival was a true miracle. In 2013, the factory was renovated, for which over 100 million rubles were invested. Today, elegant photographs of crystal glassware are actively shared on social networks, and the products themselves are popular with socialites. On the official website, you can purchase a variety of tableware and interior design items, lighting fixtures, souvenirs, and even vintage-style items. All products are handcrafted.

Prices for shot glasses range from 520–620 rubles, while tumblers cost from 500 to 5,000 rubles per unit. Glasses can be purchased for prices ranging from 7,000 to 25,000 rubles.

History and achievements of the Imperial Porcelain Factory

The famous cobalt mesh.

The factory was founded in 1744 by order of Empress Elizabeth. This enterprise became the official supplier to the royal court and, in modern terms, produced joint projects with emperors from Catherine the Great to Alexander III.

The current assortment includes both tableware and decorative elements, including rather unique pieces such as porcelain chess sets, clocks, and bells. IPF products are easily identified by two distinctive patterns: "Cobalt Net" and "Russian Art Nouveau." Perhaps such tableware once adorned your grandmother's sideboard. And in July 2025, Russian social networks were filled with enthusiastic responses when it became known that a cup with a cobalt mesh appeared in the hands of Carrie Bradshaw in the third season of the series "And Just Like That."

Still: the series "And Just Like That" / HBO Max

Cup A glass with a saucer similar to Carrie's will cost between 3,900 and 8,900 rubles, depending on its size. A new glass from the "Alice's Garden" series can be purchased for 3,200 rubles. Prices for cups and saucers start at 1,900 rubles.

I was surprised that many products, including budget options, are missing from the website.

A dress code is a set of rules that determine what clothing should be worn in certain situations or institutions. Its main purpose is to create a certain style or atmosphere appropriate to the context, be it a work environment, a social event, or a cultural event.

Historically, the concept of a dress code began to develop simultaneously with the emergence of different social classes and professional groups. In the Middle Ages, for example, clothing served as an indicator of a person's status and position in society. Over time, with the rise of industrialization and changing social norms, appearance requirements began to become formalized, and dress codes began to be established in various spheres of life.

Today, dress codes can range from strict formal standards, such as tuxedos and evening gowns, to more free and creative expressions of individuality that are permitted in less formal situations. It is important to note that adhering to a dress code can not only emphasize respect for the event, but also serve as a way of self-expression.

Nitka Teahouse

We dote on it

Historical sources indicate that over 400 teahouses operated in pre-revolutionary Russia. Andrey Kolbasinov, founder of Nitka, took on the bold task of bringing back the traditions of Russian tea drinking. Since 2019, he has opened five new establishments: three of them are located in Moscow, and one each in Tula and Nizhny Novgorod.

Nitka offers a wide range of specialty teas, ranging from green and herbal to original signature blends, including cold beverages.

The easiest way to get started with the project is through a tea subscription, which you can receive by mail along with a beautiful postcard for 333 rubles. Tea is offered in a variety of sizes: from mini sachets designed for single use for 140 rubles to tea sets for 1,300 rubles, as well as loose leaf tea in packages weighing from 8 to 50 grams. The most popular tea is "Russian Caravan" - this tea is smoked, and 50 grams can be purchased for 850 rubles.

Guests are offered home-cooked meals, as well as the opportunity to visit the bathhouse and enjoy tea with a samovar, where they treat you to sweets and pancakes.

A unique opportunity to combine pleasure with knowledge is offered by the opportunity to try lunches or dinners prepared according to recipes that existed before the revolution.

The most valuable offer offered by the museum allows you to become part of the life of a merchant family for 30 hours, living this period in their home. Yes, without mobile phones, but in appropriate historical clothing. This format will soon become available for smaller groups.

The price for a house visit as part of the "Unscheduled Visit" program is 950 rubles, while a gastronomic tour will cost 4,900 rubles.
