RPDC Design Week: A New Design Vision
Exploring the world of design where innovation meets tradition. RPDC Design Week in China became the platform for a new collaboration between REDstudio and the renowned InAward awards. This partnership unveiled a refreshed visual identity for the event, emphasizing the uniqueness and creativity of design. This project demonstrates how a contemporary approach to visual solutions can harmoniously integrate with cultural traditions, creating a memorable experience for participants.
The logo, designed by REDstudio, is a minimalist image of a cozy house with a curved roof, harmoniously integrated with a star-shaped figure. This original logo form embodies this year's concept—"Living Space for Creativity," emphasizing dynamic movement and creativity. This design approach not only creates a visually appealing image but also emphasizes the importance of creativity in the modern world.
The logo's asymmetrical elements add dynamism and create a sense of movement. The logo's sloping roof allows the letters of the abbreviation to harmoniously adapt to its shape. The star within this design symbolizes human interaction at creative events, such as parties and exhibitions. This design emphasizes creativity and active participation, making the logo appealing to the target audience.

Self-portraits: Me, My Car, and Me
The project "Me, My Car, and Me" is a unique series of self-portraits made in the shape of cars. This creative initiative was developed by Chris Labrooie, who uses modern technology to create original works of art. Each self-portrait not only reflects the owner's personality but also demonstrates the interaction between man and car, highlighting their interconnectedness. The project draws attention to art and design, and explores themes of self-expression and identity through the lens of car culture.
Chris Labrooie explains his inspiration: “The idea for this project came from experimenting with 3D scanning on my iPhone. The results were so impressive that I decided to explore the self-portrait concept further. I used head scans and various 3D-modeled outfits to create these unique images.” The project thus emerged as a result of a combination of modern technology and artistic expression, opening up new horizons in the world of digital art.
The first portrait in the project is dedicated to the Porsche 911, which has inspired me as a metallic muse for many years. The second portrait captures the spirit of the Volkswagen T3, and the last is connected to unforgettable memories of Berlin. I recall a winter road trip when flights were cancelled due to heavy snowfall and I had to repeatedly use the iconic ivory Mercedes taxis. These cars left a vivid imprint on my memories, personifying an atmosphere of comfort and reliability in difficult conditions.
