Learn MoreNew Visual Identity for Storytel by ILLO
Audiobooks continue to gain popularity, and the Swedish company Storytel, a leading player in this market, recently updated its visual identity. ILLO, an Italian studio from Turin, created a new, modern and dynamic design that highlights Storytel's innovative approach to audiobook streaming. The company's updated visual identity not only attracts attention but also improves the user experience, making access to audiobooks more convenient and enjoyable. Storytel strives to remain at the forefront of audio content, and the new design is an important step in this direction.
One of the central elements of the new design is the stylized orange flame, which is present in the Storytel logo. This inspiration became the basis for the formation of an original grid of bright abstract shapes. These visual elements not only attract attention but also create a unique atmosphere that reflects the essence of audiobooks and their exciting content. The new design emphasizes Storytel's individuality and improves the user experience.

Storytel's updated visual style not only attracts attention but also emphasizes the importance of audiobooks in modern society. According to research, the audiobook market will continue to show steady growth in 2023, and this update is part of the company's strategy aimed at maintaining leadership in this field. Storytel strives to offer users not only high-quality content but also a user-friendly interface, which contributes to the growth of audiobook audiences and popularity.
According to Statista, the number of audiobook users is predicted to reach 100 million by 2025. Jazz I Am: A Modern Look at Jazz
Kuim Marin, a talented designer who has already distinguished himself in our column twice, once again offers innovative ideas in the field of jazz music. In this article, he is presented as part of two of his projects, which is a unique event in our history. The first project is the Jazz I Am festival, which has been held annually in sunny Barcelona since 2019. This festival has become an important platform for the development of jazz culture and attracting new listeners.
Kuim chose a modern approach to the festival design, different from traditional styles. The festival logo is designed in a minimalist design, using only two colors: black and bright acid green. The unique effect is achieved by the fact that the shadows of the letters resemble a sound wave. The only classic element is the handwritten word "Jazz", which in Cyrillic is read as "Jazz", symbolizing the spirit of freedom and improvisation characteristic of jazz music. This fresh approach to design emphasizes the festival's modernity and commitment to innovation in the musical arts.

Katseye: New Girl Band at the Music Arena
Katseye is a new girl band made up of six talented members selected in the finals of the popular show The Debut: Dream Academy. The group's name derives from the "cat's eye" gemstone, inspiring South Korean designers to create the band's unique visual style. Katseye stands out not only for their musical talent but also for their vibrant image, which emphasizes each member's individuality, attracting the attention of fans and music critics. The group's logo features an oval shape with a central stylized star, reminiscent of a cat's eye. However, the 3D version of the logo is even more striking: the designers created a glass sphere with a purple band, within which a golden star glows. This design emphasizes the young performers' star status, while also detracting from the cat's eye motif. This approach to logo design demonstrates creativity and originality, which undoubtedly draws attention to the band and its musical style.
The band's visual elements include creative blocks similar to those seen on mass-produced products such as Coca-Cola and Lay's. These elements create a unique atmosphere and draw attention to the artists, emphasizing their individuality and style. Effective use of visual components allows the brand to stand out from the competition and create a memorable image, which in turn helps increase audience interest and loyalty.

Disco Duro: The Revolution of Barcelona's Nightlife
Disco Duro isn't just a party, it's a revolution in Barcelona's nightlife culture. Each event organized by Quim Marin is a unique spectacle, filled with visual effects and a vibrant atmosphere. These parties have become a must-see for nightlife enthusiasts seeking something new and unforgettable. Disco Duro attracts not only locals but also tourists, offering them a unique experience in the world of electronic music and original self-expression. Participating in these events is an opportunity to immerse yourself in an atmosphere of creativity and freedom, making every night unforgettable. Quim Marin aims to convey his ideas to audiences through a visual style imbued with sensual elements. He uses a stylish "rococoa" font for the logo, which is highlighted by a uniform color shadow, reflecting the spirit of disco aesthetics. Each design element emphasizes the uniqueness and atmosphere of the upcoming parties, creating a memorable visual experience. A commitment to originality and attention to detail make each event special and unrepeatable.
Marina chooses provocative images for her posters, including semi-nude black men with exotic flowers and vibrant women who transcend traditional perceptions. This approach creates a striking visual contrast and emphasizes cultural diversity. The use of such imagery not only engages viewers but also promotes reflection on issues of identity and cultural diversity, making each work unique and memorable.
The designer complements the main visual elements with nostalgic details, such as floppy disks, cassettes, and graffiti. These elements create a connection between the past and the present, fusing retro culture with contemporary musical trends. The use of such symbols not only evokes memories but also highlights the influence of classical music on modern genres. The result is a unique style that attracts attention and fosters emotional engagement with the audience.
