Joyteka is a multifunctional platform for teachers, designed with educators' needs in mind. Its co-founder, Maxim Novikov, a computer science teacher from Yekaterinburg, has extensive experience working in schools. He initially created the Learnis educational quest builder, which became popular among teachers. This tool later evolved into Joyteka, acquiring new features and functionality. The platform offers a balance between comprehensive capabilities and an intuitive, uncluttered interface, making it accessible even to those just beginning to work with digital technologies in education. Joyteka opens new horizons for teachers, allowing them to create interesting and engaging educational materials.

In this article, we will cover the platform's capabilities in detail and how to get started. You'll learn what tools and features are available, and receive recommendations on how to effectively use the platform to achieve your goals. Get started on your journey with our helpful tips and instructions.

What features and limitations are available in different plans?

Joyteka offers three plans, each designed to meet the needs of its users. These plans vary in functionality and price, allowing you to choose the most suitable option for each client. Whether you need a basic package for personal use or an advanced plan for business, Joyteka provides flexible solutions to help you optimize costs and maximize your investment. Explore the plans and choose the one that best suits your goals.

  • The "Beginner" plan is completely free, but has functional limitations. For example, users can create up to 20 materials and do not have access to a library of ready-made activities or premium quest templates. There are also limitations in the settings of various tasks (for example, you can't set a time limit for answering a question or assign points). You can't invite more than five participants to the Quiz, and you can't add more than five events to the Text Quest.
  • The "Confident" plan costs 510 rubles per month (there is a discount if you pay annually). A significant number of restrictions are removed—the available settings are expanded, and the maximum number of created materials increases to 100. Up to 10 people can now participate in the Quiz, and up to 50 event blocks can be added to the Text Quest.
  • The "Pro" plan offers the full range of features offered by the platform for 960 rubles per month (there is also a discount if you pay annually). Users can create up to 500 materials and invite up to 50 people to participate in the Quiz. Up to 400 blocks are now available for developing a plot in Text Quest.

How to register on the platform

To get started on the Joyteka platform, you need to create an account. To do this, go to the main page and click the "Login" button in the top menu. Then select the "Registration" tab to create a new account.

After registration, you will get access to Your personal account, where you can perform all necessary actions. A convenient menu located on the right provides quick navigation and contains the following sections:

  • Start Page — displays how many more lessons you can create with your current plan, a "Tip of the Day" with life hacks for using tools, your most recently developed lessons, and links to Joyteka's social media.
  • My Profile — a page with basic account information and an offer to purchase a premium plan or activate a gift certificate.
  • My Lessons — a list of all the materials you've created, also sorted by format. Here you can copy a link to a lesson, view student results, edit, or delete a material.
  • Creating a lesson is the first step in developing new material.
  • Lesson Library — a database of materials created by Joyteka users and divided by class, subject, difficulty, and format. Currently, only paid plan subscribers can use the library.
  • Upgrade to Premium — a page with descriptions of plans, their capabilities, and limitations.
  • Support — a page where you can donate to the developers.

Clicking the three-bar icon in the upper right corner expands the menu. This menu contains a "Trash" section, where deleted lessons are stored for 14 days before they are permanently deleted. You can also access the "Order a Certificate" option—an electronic certificate generator that allows you to issue them to students upon completion of training activities. The cost of issuing one certificate is 450 rubles. Please note the "How to Use" button below after selecting the language. This page contains video instructions that clearly demonstrate the process of creating materials in various formats. These resources will help you quickly master the platform and effectively utilize all its capabilities.

How to Create Learning Materials in Joyteka

Once you've mastered your personal account, you can begin creating learning materials. To do so, click the "Create Lesson" button. This will open a page asking you to choose one of the six available formats on the platform. Each format has its own characteristics and is designed for different types of educational processes, which will allow you to effectively prepare lessons.

In this text, we will examine each of these points in detail.

Joyteka quests are exciting escape room games where players must solve a series of puzzles and tasks to escape from a locked room. During the game, participants explore the surrounding space, find clues, and use logic to solve mysteries. Joyteka offers a variety of quest scenarios that provide vibrant emotions and unforgettable experiences. These games are ideal for teamwork, developing thinking, and simply having a good time.

The platform offers 16 free quest templates and 35 premium options. The templates differ in design, number of tasks and puzzles, but the mechanics remain the same. The student interacts with elements on the screen to receive tasks. Some tasks require simple sequences of actions—for example, removing a code sheet from a lab coat pocket, using it to open a safe, and receiving a question. The constructor supports various question types, including enter-answer, single-choice, and multiple-choice. Each question can be accompanied by an image or audio file uploaded from your computer. In addition, the designer allows you to create several sets of questions for one quest, which allows students to receive a variety of assignment options.

After adding questions, the quest settings page will open. Here, you can enable features such as shuffling questions or completing the quest only if the student successfully completes all tasks. Please note that the "Collect completion results" option is disabled by default. If you want to track individual participant achievements, be sure to enable this option and also activate "Request participant data." This will allow you to more effectively analyze results and improve the learning process.

The interactive video is an innovative learning format that allows viewers to interact with the content. While watching the video, comments and questions appear at specific times, encouraging active student participation. The video is loaded from a YouTube link, making it accessible and easy to integrate. The interactive format offers three question types: single-choice, multiple-choice, and open-ended. You can also add an introductory word at the beginning of the video and notes clarifying key points. This approach significantly increases student engagement and promotes better learning.

The free plan settings include the ability to rewind videos, as well as the ability to collect results and student names. After viewing, users will be able to see their results. These features enhance interactivity and student engagement, improving the learning process. Joyteka's quiz is organized similarly to the TV show "Joey Game." Various topics are presented on the screen, and the questions within each are categorized by difficulty level. Participants receive more points for correctly answering more difficult questions. This format is suitable for synchronous classes. However, the free plan limits access to the quiz to five students at a time. Teachers can add one or more topics to the quiz, each containing five questions worth between 100 and 500 points. The cost of questions cannot be adjusted; they can only be selected in their order. Questions are uploaded only as images, which is inconvenient, as clear and legible images of the questions must be prepared in advance. Answer options cannot be filled in, as the quiz does not support automatic scoring. Thus, preparing materials requires additional time and effort from the teacher.

Quiz The quiz is designed to take place in person (in a classroom or lecture hall) or during a synchronous lesson via video link. The teacher provides students with a link or QR code to connect to the quiz from their smartphones. The teacher then opens the question, and those wishing to answer press the corresponding button on their devices. The teacher's screen displays information about who pressed the button first, and the participant responds verbally. For correct answers, the teacher awards points, and for incorrect answers, points are deducted and the next participant has the opportunity to answer. All participants' results are recorded on a leaderboard, adding an element of competition and motivation. Those interested in synchronous quizzes but find Joyteka inconvenient should consider Unislide, MyQuiz, and DiaClass. These platforms offer convenient question templates with multiple-choice answers and an automatic verification function. We previously featured these Russian services in our selection of interactive classroom tools.

A set of flashcards with vocabulary terms is designed for synchronous learning. After launching the game, words appear on the screen for a set amount of time. Students must respond verbally, providing a definition or translation of the word based on the instructions. The teacher records correct answers, which promotes active student engagement and improves their knowledge. This approach not only makes the learning process more interactive but also helps develop oral communication skills and quick thinking.

The free version of the app has limited functionality. For example, there is no option to add correct definitions that can be displayed if students give incorrect answers. It is also impossible to customize the duration of the game session, which is 60 seconds by default.

The constructor for creating minimalist tests is designed for asynchronous completion. With this tool, you can quickly put together a short quiz in just a few clicks. Three types of questions are available: text, video, and quest, as well as the ability to add images to questions. The premium plan offers additional features, such as customizable points for correct answers, a time limit for answering, shuffling questions and answer options, and time-based access restrictions. This builder is ideal for educational institutions, training programs, and online courses, allowing you to easily create interactive tests and quizzes.

The platform offers an interesting format of a branching quest, where the development of the story depends on the choice Player. The designer has a user-friendly and intuitive interface: the scenario is formed from blocks that the developer places on the workspace and connects with arrows, creating the desired storyline. In the free version, blocks can only contain text, while the paid plan offers the ability to add images, video, and audio. Blocks can also contain single-choice or input-only questions. One of the main limitations of the free version is the ability to use only up to five blocks, which can affect the complexity and depth of the quest.

Standard settings include the ability to enable student score collection and shuffle answer options. A paid plan allows you to restrict access to the quest on certain dates, which optimizes the learning process and increases participant engagement.

How to Share Materials with Students

Inviting students to synchronous Quiz-style classes is simple and convenient. Simply send them a link or QR code, eliminating the need for registration. This allows you to quickly organize participation and focus on the learning process.

When using asynchronous formats, the process of creating materials remains simple and convenient. At the final stage, Joyteka provides a link with a unique digital code and a QR code that can be downloaded for subsequent printing. These options provide students with access to the interactive lesson you have prepared. This approach makes learning more accessible and engaging, which positively impacts learning.

Where to find student results

If the "Collect completion results" option is enabled in the material settings, you can find this data on the "My Classes" page in the row with the name of the corresponding material. By clicking "Results," you will receive information about student activity and their individual progress, including the date and time of completion, the number of points earned and correct answers, as well as all submitted answers. This will allow you to effectively track student progress and analyze their results.
