According to observations, the decision to choose specialized vocational education (SVE) for a child is increasingly being made not at the time of school graduation or due to poor Unified State Exam (USE) results, but in advance and consciously. Interest in this educational path is growing, and the negative perception of such a choice as unsuccessful is gradually decreasing. While ten years ago, only 7% of parents of children aged three to six stated that their child would attend SVE, by 2021 this figure had more than doubled, reaching almost 18%. This indicates a growing recognition of the value of vocational education and changing views on career paths.
In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of affluent families with one child choosing secondary vocational education (SVE). About 20% of college students come from families that could afford a paid higher education. Nevertheless, these parents consciously choose secondary vocational education, which may indicate a desire for practical skills and earlier entry into the labor market.
