- Mortal Kombat 1.
The Elder Gods created many realms, but the story of Mortal Kombat focuses on only a few of them: Earth, Outworld, Edenia, and the Netherrealm. There are also realms of Order, Chaos, Dream, Zaterra, Vaternus, and Heaven, which are mentioned but do not play a significant role in the game. These realms form a rich mythology and context in which the events of Mortal Kombat unfold, highlighting the diversity and complexity of the universe.
The Elder Gods did not create the worlds randomly: they destroyed the One Being and distributed its fragments across different worlds. This process resulted in the creation of the Kamidogu stones, which allow their wielder to gain colossal power. However, the Kamidogu have a significant influence only in the old Mortal Kombat universe. These artifacts not only serve as a source of power, but are also an important element of the game's mythology, personifying the struggle between the forces of light and darkness.

The main aggressor in the series is Outworld, the homeland of Shao Kahn, an emperor who has conquered several worlds in the past, including Edentia. Now Shao Kahn is immersed in an ambitious plan to conquer Earthrealm.
According to the will of the Elder Gods, it is impossible to simply invade and take over another world. You must win a series of tournaments, which are mortal battles. In these competitions, champions are chosen from each realm to defend their worlds and fight for their well-being. These tournaments become an arena not only for physical strength, but also for strategic thinking, where every victory is decisive. Champions must demonstrate skill and courage to ensure the prosperity of their homelands.
For the past nine tournaments, Outworld has emerged victorious, thanks to the prowess of Goro, the four-armed prince of the Shokans, who possesses the blood of the dragons. Another Outworld victory would have paved the way for Shao Kahn to invade Earthrealm. However, Liu Kang saved the situation by defeating both the sorcerer Shang Tsung, who works for Shao, and Goro himself. These events are detailed in the first two Mortal Kombat games.
At this point, the legitimate tournaments came to an end. In the third installment, Shao Kahn invades Earthrealm under a new pretext—to bring his wife, Queen Sindel, back to life. This plan leads to the merging of worlds, which effectively becomes the apocalypse.

Shao has lost his power, and Edenia has freed itself from his oppression. However, Earthrealm's problems are not over. Now the Netherrealm is becoming aggressive. The fallen Elder God Shinnok, long trapped in Hell, has reached Heaven and destroyed several of his former brethren. In Deadly Alliance, Shang Tsung allies with Quan Chi, a sorcerer from Hell, and kills Liu Kang. As a result, he also resurrects the Dragon King Onaga, who once ruled Outworld before Shao. This new threat poses grave challenges for Earthrealm, and the struggle for survival continues.
Events have unfolded with such intensity that a reset is necessary. The universe is literally bursting at the seams, leading to a massive Armageddon at the pyramid of the Edenian god Argus. This was the final, mortal battle, in which all participants except Shao Kahn perished. However, the thunder god Raiden managed to send a message to his past self, initiating the reboot of the Mortal Kombat universe. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of a new era in the Mortal Kombat universe, where old conflicts and new confrontations will intertwine in an endless struggle for survival.

Mortal Kombat (2011) is a reworking of the first three games in the series with a changed plot. It then begins a unique adventure related to the fight against time. The main antagonist is Kronika, a Titaness who controls the hourglass. She is convinced that Raiden has disrupted the flow of history, which is true, as he sent a message to his past self. During the course of events, almost all of the Elder Gods perish, but heroes from the past return in the present. This new plot twist in Mortal Kombat adds depth and intrigue, continuing the tradition of the series and offering players an immersive experience.
In Mortal Kombat 11, the story concludes with Liu Kang achieving godhood and, using the sands of time, reshaping the entire universe. His goal is to bring peace to all realms so they can coexist in harmony.
The events of the Mortal Kombat 11 story expansion begin, completely reworking the story of the main campaign. However, despite this, the changes do not have a significant impact on the overall plot. Let's take a closer look.
The story of Mortal Kombat 1 unfolds in a tense atmosphere, where heroes and villains clash in an uncompromising struggle. Players are immersed in a world filled with exciting battles, unique characters, and intriguing plot twists. The game's events unfold against the backdrop of ancient conflicts and magical forces, making each battle not only a physical but also a spiritual challenge. Mortal Kombat 1 offers players the opportunity to explore the complex relationships between characters, their motivations, and goals, which gives the game depth and immersion.

Raiden
The god of Earthrealm, known by various names, is a symbol of protection and justice. He acts as the foremost protector of all that is good and the opponent of evil. Although associated with thunder, he is not the eldest among his divine pantheon. This god personifies the forces of nature and serves as a patron of humanity, inspiring them to fight negativity and injustice. His influence is felt in every aspect of life, and his cult continues to attract followers striving for harmony and well-being.
Raiden and his champion Liu Kang have repeatedly thwarted Shao Kahn's plans to conquer Earthrealm. Raiden also defended Earthrealm from the threat of the Netherrealm, home to the fallen Elder God Shinnok. Despite his efforts to hide Shinnok's amulet, it invariably fell into enemy hands. These events highlight the constant struggle between good and evil in the world of Mortal Kombat, where Raiden and Liu Kang serve as protectors of the human realm.
One of the most horrific events in the Mortal Kombat universe was the murder of Liu Kang by the sorcerers Shang Tsung and Quan Chi using a powerful amulet. This crime led to the resurrection of the dragon king Onaga, who had previously been betrayed and killed by Shao Kahn. The sorcerers used dark powers to revive Onaga's stone warriors, transferring the souls of the dead into them, including famous fighters from various realms. These events highlight the sinister nature of the sorcerers and their desire for power, making them key antagonists in the story of Mortal Kombat.
Raiden, having sacrificed himself, destroyed everything around him. However, he survived, but became more cruel. Now he decided to control the champions of Earth to ensure the prosperity of his beloved world. In this pursuit, he knew no bounds.

At the end of the story, only one hero remained - Raiden, but even he was defeated. Before his death, the god of thunder sent a warning to his past self, aiming to prevent the tragic events in which he also played a significant role.
In the rebooted Mortal Kombat universe of 2011, Raiden faced a similar situation. At the end of Mortal Kombat X, he sacrificed himself to cleanse the source of life energy, and as a result, received Shinnok's amulet. However, a dark force possessed Raiden, leading him on a dangerous path, just like in the original timeline. However, his existence on this path proved short-lived, as Kronika erased him in the process of changing the universe. This plot twist highlights the importance of the struggle between light and darkness in the world of Mortal Kombat and shows how even the most powerful heroes can become victims of their decisions.
As a result of a time shift, the Raiden of the past found himself in the present time. Ultimately, he chose to pass on his powers to Earth's champion Liu Kang so that he could create a new world free of pain and war. Raiden's sacrifice was a pivotal moment in the story, paving the way for harmony and peace.
Raiden is now the champion of Earthrealm, but plays a less prominent role in the current plot. His lightning-based abilities now rely heavily on Liu Kang. This change in the character's dynamic highlights his adaptation to new circumstances and interactions with other heroes, making his role more multifaceted.
Liu Kang
Bo' Rai Cho, a Shaolin monk-trained warrior and master of Outworld, is a prominent character in the Mortal Kombat universe. He is a close friend of Kung Lao and was chosen by Raiden to be the champion of Earthrealm. Bo' Rai Cho repeatedly defended Earthrealm from Shao Kahn's invasions, demonstrating exceptional combat skills and strategic acumen. However, during the events of Deadly Alliance, he met his death at the hands of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. After this, Bo' Rai Cho's fate took a tragic turn: his body, disfigured and resurrected by Raiden, who himself fell into sin, became a weapon of destruction, while his spirit continued to travel between heroes, battling evil. This story highlights the complexity of the character and his struggle to restore justice in the Mortal Kombat world.
In the rebooted Mortal Kombat universe, which launched in 2011, the character Liu Kang also survived his death when he was accidentally killed by Raiden during a conflict. This conflict between Liu Kang and Raiden has become a recurring motif that runs through all timelines and universes. In each of them, Liu Kang invariably meets his death.

The hero, in the guise of the spirit of the Netherrealm, took part in numerous battles on the side of the fallen god Shinnok, ultimately becoming the lord of hell. However, everything changed when Kronika rewrote history, which led to the appearance of a living Liu from the past in the present. He allied with both the zombie Liu and Raiden. With the godlike power of Raiden, who at this point became an ordinary mortal, Liu Kang achieved the status of the god of thunder and fire. He defeated Kronika and began the process of creating a new universe.
Who is Liu Kang today? After the events of Mortal Kombat 11, Liu Kang became the Guardian of Time, replacing Kronika. He now takes over the role of Guardian of Earthrealm, previously held by Raiden. This transformation highlights his development as a character and his new responsibility to protect Earthrealm from threats. Liu Kang, possessing strength and wisdom, now manipulates the timelines and protects the world from destructive forces.
Kung Lao
Two warriors bore this name. The first of them fell in a tournament many years ago, a victim of Prince Goro. His descendant, who inherited the name, decided to avenge his ancestor. However, this revenge was not only for the murder but also in response to the massacre in Shaolin, orchestrated by Shao Kahn. After this terrible event, the monk order ceased to exist. But Kung Lao, inspired by the spirit of his ancestors, decided to revive it and begin training a new generation of warriors to restore justice and revive the traditions of Shaolin. Kung Lao always dreamed of a peaceful life, but circumstances constantly interfered with his plans. After Liu Kang was killed by Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, he again took up his quest for vengeance but was killed. Later, the Dragon King Onaga resurrected him as a zombie. Ultimately, Liu Kang frees his friend's soul, but this causes events to reset.

After the reboot in 2011 Kung Lao's story has changed, but remains recognizable. This time, he is killed by Shao Kahn, who treacherously snaps his neck. As a result, Kung Lao becomes a revenant and falls under the influence of Quan Chi. These events highlight the hero's tragic fate and his struggle with dark forces, adding depth to his character.
Kung Lao is one of the key defenders of Earthrealm and a loyal friend of Raiden. His role in the fight to protect the world from evil forces and threats emanating from other dimensions makes him an important figure in the history of Mortal Kombat. Kung Lao is known for his masterful fighting skills and unique abilities, allowing him to effectively combat enemies. A loyal supporter of Raiden, he actively participates in the defense of Earthrealm, demonstrating courage and determination in every battle.
Shang Tsung
Shang Tsung is one of the key tricksters in the Mortal Kombat universe. While he never reached the level of an outright villain like Shao Kahn or Shinnok, his influence has always been felt. Shang Tsung masterfully uses his magical abilities and cunning to manipulate events while remaining in the shadows. His role in the game's plot is varied and multifaceted, making him an important character. He skillfully balances good and evil, creating intrigue and tension in the struggle for power.
In both timelines, Shang Tsung initially served Shao Kahn, acting as his right hand. It was thanks to Shang Tsung that the terrifying Mileena, a clone of Princess Kitana, was born. He also caused Kenshi's blinding and facilitated Shao Kahn's invasion of Earthrealm in Mortal Kombat III. In the old timeline, Shang Tsung once achieved near-absolute power by allying with the necromancer Quan Chi and killing Liu Kang, but ultimately fell at the hands of his ally. This character embodies ambition and betrayal, making him an important element of the Mortal Kombat universe.

After the reboot in 2011, Shang Tsung not only organized the tournament, but also played a key role in the resurrection of Sindel, who was killed by Shao Kang to bring her back to life. He also played a vital role in the fight against Kronika. The Well of Souls he collected throughout his life significantly strengthened the Crown of the Goddess of Time, without which the creation of a new universe would have been impossible. This connection between Shang Tsung and Kronika underscores his importance in the events unfolding in the world of Mortal Kombat. Shang Tsung is more than just a second-rate sorcerer in Outworld. He rediscovers his true power and cunning thanks to a mysterious woman. This character, always characterized by magical abilities and cunning, returns to his former glory. His journey to power and strategic mastery draws attention, creating intrigue and escalating the plot. Shang Tsung becomes not only more powerful, but also a more dangerous opponent for all who dare stand in his way.
General Shao
In the rebooted Mortal Kombat universe, Shao Kahn has lost his status as Emperor of Outworld, but he remains a key figure in the villainous side. His origins are shrouded in mystery, but it is known that he was once an advisor to the dragon king Onaga, who ruled Outworld. As a result of betrayal, Shao Kahn overthrew his master and took his throne, becoming one of the most dangerous antagonists in the Mortal Kombat universe.
Shao Kahn conquered many realms, including the vampire homeland of Waternus and Edenia, a once majestic realm comparable in size to Outworld. He destroyed King Jerrod of Edenia and married Queen Sindel, adopting Princess Kitana. As a result of Shao Kahn's devastating actions, Edenia, once renowned for its wealth and grandeur, was reduced to a nearly lifeless wasteland. Shao Kahn, seeking power, decided to conquer Earth. Despite his strength, intelligence, and the support of the sorcerer Shang Tsung, he suffered repeated crushing defeats. These setbacks culminated in the events of Deadly Alliance, when Shao Kahn faced a threat to his life. His ambitious plans to conquer Earth were jeopardized, calling into question his power and strategic abilities. In Armageddon, all the heroes of the Mortal Kombat series fought in a final battle, leaving only Shao Kahn alive. Having achieved complete world domination, the Emperor faced an unexpected obstacle: Raiden, before his death, sent a message into the past, which led to the reboot of the universe. This event became the starting point for new storylines and confrontations in the world of Mortal Kombat.

After the reboot, Shao Kahn continued his attempts to conquer the world, invading Earth and engaging in battles with heroes led by the god Raiden. Raiden, recognizing the threat posed by Shao Kahn, devised a plan to prevent the events leading to Armageddon and, through cunning, defeated Shao Kahn. This clash marked a turning point in the conflict between the forces of light and darkness, highlighting the struggle for the survival of Earth and its defenders.
Shao is now a general to Queen Sindel of Outworld, but no longer her lover. His role in the world has changed significantly, and he has become a key player in the political game unfolding around the kingdom.
Sindel
Sindel, the former Queen of Edenia, was a magnificent ruler of the country that was destroyed by Shao Kahn. The Emperor of Outworld, in love with her, married Sindel, taking her daughter Kitana into his family. However, Sindel soon died tragically on Earthrealm, presumably committing suicide due to the suffering of living under a tyrant's rule. Her subsequent resurrection gave Shao Kahn the opportunity to attack Earthrealm, circumventing the tournament, as his queen had once again fallen into his power, and the Elder Gods had not prevented him. This situation led to a profound shift in the balance of power between the realms and sparked new conflicts that would affect the fates of many heroes. The risen Sindel initially sided with evil, but thanks to her daughter, she was able to remember the conquest of Edenia and the death of her late husband. Realizing her true values, the queen turned against Shao Kahn. Taking advantage of his latest defeat at the hands of Raiden's champions, Sindel was able to reclaim the throne of her homeworld. This transformation highlights the complexity of her character and the struggle between good and evil, making her story especially compelling for fans of the Mortal Kombat universe.

According to the Mortal Kombat 11 expansion, Sindel was never actually under Shao Kahn's control; she genuinely loved him. Interestingly, she killed her husband, Jerrod, the king of Edenia, for her newfound love and desire for power. This treacherous story highlights the complexity of her character and her conflicting motives. Sindel becomes not only a key character in the plot but also a symbol of the struggle for one's own desires, which makes her character even more memorable and multifaceted.
Sindel is the level-headed queen of Outworld, which now includes Edenia. She lost her husband, but she has not lost her faith in justice. Her leadership and wisdom inspire the inhabitants to fight for a better future. Sindel overcomes adversity, maintaining hope and a desire to restore peace to her kingdom.
Kitana
Kitana, the daughter of Sindel and the princess of Edenia, was captured by Emperor Shao Kahn after his attack on her kingdom. For a considerable time, she remained unaware of the fate of her world and her true origin, serving as a devoted assassin in Shao's service. Her story is full of secrets and betrayal, making her a central character in the conflict between good and evil in the world of Mortal Kombat.
When the secret was revealed, she turned against her adoptive father and managed to recruit her mother to her side. Together with Queen Sindel, they began to rebuild Edenia, but it was soon invaded by the fallen god Shinnok. As a result of these events, Kitana was killed, but she was later resurrected as a revenant.

After the reboot in 2011, the character of Kitana retained her legendary essence, but a significant love story with Liu was added to the plot Kahn. When Liu Kang gained godlike powers, Kitana became his staunch ally, working with him to create a new timeline. This connection not only deepened their characters but also added new dimensions to the development of the Mortal Kombat series' storyline.
Who is Kitana? She is one of Sindel's daughters and, as heir to the throne, ranks second to Mileena. Kitana is distinguished by her outstanding fighting skills and strong character, making her an important figure in the world of Mortal Kombat. Despite her secondary role in the succession to the throne, her influence on the events of the game and her interactions with other characters make her a crucial part of the story.
Mileena
Mileena is a mentally unstable clone of Princess Kitana, created by Shang Tsung in the Flesh Pits under the direction of Shao Kahn. During his experiment, the sorcerer used the blood of Kitana and the Tarkatans, a nomadic race of mutants from Outworld. As a result, Mileena inherited Kitana's appearance, which Shao Kahn actively exploited for his own purposes. However, she is distinguished by a mad and bloodthirsty nature, making her a dangerous opponent.
In the old timeline, Mileena successfully took her "sister's" place and became the princess of Edenia. She also attempted to oppose her "father." However, after the 2011 reboot, her fate changed. Mileena, having briefly sat in the Outworld emperor's chair after the fall of Shao, was soon executed.

Mileena is not just a clone of Kitana, but her older sister, making her first in line to the throne after Sindel. However, Mileena has a serious problem: she suffers from Tarkata, a disease that transforms people into monsters. This situation threatens her claim to the throne, as the disease not only affects her physical condition but also her perception as the rightful heir. Mileena must find a way to overcome Tarkata in order to regain her rights and reclaim her lost opportunities.
Baraka
A Tarkatan is a member of a nomadic people who lead a brutal lifestyle. His race is a mixture of Outworlders and demons from the Netherrealm. In the Mortal Kombat series, Baraka serves as a bloodthirsty servant, always obeying a stronger opponent. Initially, his allegiance lay with Shao Kahn, then Shinnok, and later Onaga. Baraka embodies ruthlessness and loyalty, making him a significant character in the Mortal Kombat universe.
Since the 2011 reboot, the game hasn't seen many changes. Shinnok's role became less significant, and the character Onaga did not return to the story.

Who is Baraka? A former merchant who was struck by the Tarkata disease. While this illness is believed to cause loss of intelligence, Baraka managed to retain his sanity. In the new timeline, Tarkatans are not just a race, but a community of people infected with this dangerous disease. Their shared condition and struggle with the disease form a unique identity that differs from traditional notions of race and culture.
Tanya
An Edenian traitor who deliberately opened the door to Shinnok's world in the original timeline. She is the daughter of an ambassador and inherited her father's mastery of diplomacy, which she uses to her advantage. Her actions became a turning point in the history of Eden, changing the balance of power and opening up new opportunities for the dark forces.

Tanya, like Baraka, always chose the side of those with greater power. First, she supported Shao, then Shinnok, then joined the alliance of sorcerers Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, and later became an ally of the dragon king Onaga. However, unlike the powerful Tarkatan, Tanya preferred diplomatic methods and strove for power.
Tanya became the protector of the Outworld royal family and Mileena's lover. Her new roles imply not only loyalty and courage, but also deep connections with important characters. Tanya actively participates in protecting the interests of the royal family, using her skills and knowledge to ensure security and stability. At the same time, her relationship with Mileena adds emotional depth and complexity, highlighting the importance of personal connections amid political intrigue.
Reptile
A saurian from Zaterra, whose homeland was destroyed by Shao Kahn, has become one of the emperor's loyal servants. Despite the loss of his race, Reptile, like Baraka and Tanya, has sworn allegiance not only to Shao Kahn but to other villains as well. His primary motivation is to find a way to restore his race, but this goal seems unattainable. Reptile continues his struggle, full of hope and disappointment, seeking to reclaim his legacy in a world that rejected him.

Reptile is a tragic character who finds himself in a situation where his actions are evil, but he does so to save his family. This internal conflict makes him a figure who reflects difficult moral choices. His story highlights questions of sacrifice and nobility, forcing viewers to consider how far they are willing to go for their loved ones. Reptile personifies the struggle between good and evil, emphasizing that even in the darkest circumstances, a spark of humanity can be found.
Nitara
Nitara is a vampire from Waternus, which was captured and annexed to Outworld by Shao Kahn. Unlike traditional vampire portrayals, Nitara appears as a positive character in Mortal Kombat. She commits actions that may seem villainous, but she does so solely to save her people. Together with Reptile, she managed to free her people from the oppression of the Outworld, which underscores her noble intentions and desire for freedom.
The vampires lived in relative prosperity until a long-lost magical sword, created to exterminate vampires, returned to Waternus. Recognizing the threat of genocide, Nitara began an investigation that led her to Ashra, the sword's new wielder. The conflict between them, however, did not lead to a final resolution of the situation.

Nitara is currently a representative of her kind. While she doesn't consider the desire to drink blood evil, her actions and choices clearly point to her support for dark forces.
Ashra
A demoness from the Underworld, Ashra once acquired a magical sword capable of possessing its owner and instilling lofty ideals in them. She decided that her mission was to cleanse the world of evil by destroying demons and, eventually, vampires. While demons like Quan Chi may have deserved their fate, the motives for the mass murder of vampires remain unclear. This conflict reflects complex moral questions about justice and responsibility, raising important themes about the line between good and evil.

Ashra is currently a deadly assassin with unique mastery of the sword. Her main goal is to take revenge on Quan Chi for the suffering inflicted on her. This struggle between Ashra and Quan Chi takes center stage in the story, highlighting her determination and pursuit of justice.
Li Mei
Li Mei, a skilled fighter from a small but important village in Outworld, fell victim to the destructive actions of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, who joined forces to form the Deadly Alliance. On the site of her home, the sorcerers began constructing a palace designed to open a portal to Heaven. In this dire situation, Li Mei was forced to participate in the Mortal Kombat tournament. She was trained by Bo' Rai Cho, Liu Kang's mentor, and fought on the side of good against the Dragon King. Li Mei's story exemplifies the struggle for justice and fortitude, demonstrating the importance of loyalty to one's roots and ideals.

In the context of the global events of the series, Li Mei plays a minor role, both in the original timeline and after the 2011 reboot, when she was not available as a playable character. Her presence in the game remains minimal, and this affects the perception of her character among fans of the series. Despite her lack of active participation, Li Mei continues to be part of the broader universe, which generates interest among fans and creates the preconditions for further development of her storyline.
Li Mei currently holds the position of constable in the court of Sindel. She was previously implicated in the tragic death of Queen Jerrod's husband, making her a figure surrounded by many rumors and controversies. The situation surrounding Li Mei remains tense, as her past continues to impact her reputation and position at court.
Reiko
Reiko was a general in Shinnok's army who later became a supporter of Shao Kahn. This fierce warrior of the empire showed absolute loyalty to his master, strictly following his orders. Reiko's apparent ambition to take Shao Kahn's place underscores his ambition and ruthless nature.

In the updated 2011 timeline, Reiko found himself under the influence and in bed with the bloodthirsty Mileena. She sought to reclaim the lost throne of Outworld, which once belonged to her. Their relationship became a key moment in a struggle for power in which intrigue and betrayal are intertwined.
Reiko is currently a student and loyal assistant of Shao Kahn. His role is not only to train, but also to carry out various tasks related to the conquest and strengthening of Shao Kahn's power. Reiko continues to develop his combat skills and strategies to become a worthy heir and protector of his mentor's interests.
Havik
A native of the Realm of Chaos, his main goal is to spread chaos. However, in the conflict against Onaga, Havik sided with good, as the dragon king planned to rule the country too harshly and organized. This decision led to an unexpected alliance, in which the desire for freedom and disorder clashed with the authoritarian tendencies of the dragon ruler.
Havik sought to possess Onaga's heart, which possessed the power to resurrect the dead. This heart represented a source of immense power, and its possession could radically alter the balance of power. Havik understood that with this power, he could not only bring the fallen back to life, but also use them to his advantage, which made his goal even more desirable.

Havik remains a symbol of chaos and destruction. His influence continues to be felt, and he has lost none of his power. Havik is a character who embodies unpredictability and energy, capable of changing the course of events at any moment. His actions are always aimed at creating instability, which makes him one of the most memorable figures in the world. Havik continues to attract attention with his charisma and desire for chaos, remaining a relevant and interesting character.
Rain
The son of a respected inhabitant of Edenia, Rain was kidnapped by Shao Kahn's men during the conquest of that world. He served his new master, demonstrating devotion and loyalty. However, after learning of his true past from Kitana, Rain changed his position and sided with good. Despite this, he betrayed his new allies, which led to complex consequences for everyone involved in the conflict. Rain's story illustrates themes of betrayal and the search for identity in a world engulfed in chaos.

In the Armageddon story It is revealed that Rain is a descendant of an Edenian god. Realizing his true origins, he strives to become a new god, but his ambitions are thwarted. In the 2011 reboot, Rain sides with Outworld, adding drama and complexity to his character. This transformation from an ordinary man to someone striving for godhood highlights his inner conflicts and devotion to his ideals, creating a deep connection with the audience.
Rain is currently a servant of Outworld, no longer associated solely with absolute evil. However, he has found villains with whom he has decided to team up.
Johnny Cage
A Hollywood star and one of the key defenders of Earthrealm, Johnny Cage is known for his spectacular crotch punch. Despite his arrogance, Johnny is a decent and courageous man. The events of the third part of the series demonstrated that he is ready to defend Earth even in the face of a clear threat to his life. In the original timeline, Cage's character faced death twice, which emphasizes his resilience and dedication.
Johnny Cage's professional film career was checkered, and he repeatedly returned to Raiden's team for new material. In one of his adventures, he was able to single-handedly confront the fallen god Shinnok. After Liu Kang's death, Johnny Cage became Earth's foremost defender, continuing to fight for peace and justice.

In the updated universe, In the 2011 reboot, Johnny Cage's story remains largely unchanged. However, he and Sonya now have a daughter, Cassie, who inherits her father's powers. Cassie becomes an important character, continuing her parents' legacy while bringing fresh elements to the story.
Who is Johnny now? He's a movie star in the twilight of his career, dealing with a breakup with his girlfriend (not Sonya Blade). However, he holds the sword of the ancient Kenshi family, which symbolizes his connection to legends and the past. Johnny faces a choice: continue to fight for his place in the world of cinema or immerse himself in learning about his heritage and the power it grants.
Kenshi
Kenshi Takahashi, a descendant of an ancient royal family, was blinded by the sorcerer Shang Tsung's cunning deception. Striving to become the greatest warrior, Kenshi encountered the treachery of his enemy, who exploited the warrior's pride for his own gain. Shang Tsung lured Kenshi to a tomb rumored to contain a powerful artifact—the Ancestral Sword. However, the sorcerer's true goal was to acquire the souls of warriors. Despite losing his sight, Kenshi managed to find the sword, which became the beginning of his journey to restore justice and fight the dark forces.

Kenshi, driven by a thirst for vengeance, decided to do everything in his power to find Shang Tsung. He joined forces with Earth's heroes, including Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage. However, the blind warrior relied only on his sword, which always showed him the right path. Kenshi understood that only by working together with other heroes could he overcome the dark forces and restore justice.
Who is Kenshi today? He is a character who seeks to reclaim the sword of his ancestors, now in the hands of Johnny Cage. He was originally sighted, but then events occurred that changed his destiny. Kenshi is an intriguing character, combining elements of the struggle for legacy and personal transformation. Scorpion
Hanzo Hasashi, known as Scorpion, suffered tragic losses in his life. In a confrontation with Bi-Han, Sub-Zero, he lost everything—his family, his home clan, the Shirai Ryu, and his life. Ninja representing the warring clans met at a Shaolin temple under the direction of Quan Chi. In this brutal battle, Bi-Han killed Hanzo, sending his soul to the Netherrealm. Quan Chi promised Sub-Zero the complete destruction of the Shirai Ryu clan, and he fulfilled his promise, leading to the complete destruction of Hanzo and his legacy. This tale of revenge and betrayal remains a vital part of the Mortal Kombat universe, underscoring the tragedy of Scorpion's fate.
Since then, Hanzo, now a hellish spectre known as Scorpion, has periodically emerged from the Netherrealm, only to return shortly thereafter. At the tenth tournament, he confronted Sub-Zero and killed him. However, Bi-Han's place was taken by his younger brother, who adopted the same name. This Sub-Zero proved less cruel than his predecessor, and Hanzo, realizing this, vowed not to harm him. Their interactions became an important plot element, highlighting the characters' shifts in personality and morality, as well as their development within the Mortal Kombat universe.
Scorpion, as a hellish spectre, was never fully loyal to any side. His driving force was revenge—first against Quan Chi, and then against the Elder Gods, who had promised to restore the Shirai Ryu clan but failed to fulfill their promises. Scorpion embodies the pursuit of justice and the thirst for revenge, making him one of the most memorable characters in the Mortal Kombat universe. His unwavering determination and drive to restore his clan's honor highlight the depth of his character and motivation.

Scorpion, a character from the Mortal Kombat universe, has undergone significant changes to his background. Previously thought to be a member of the Shirai Ryu clan, he is actually the younger brother of Sub-Zero of the famous Lin Kuei clan. As a result of these changes, Hanzo Hasashi, as a separate person, no longer exists in this interpretation. These transformations in Scorpion's story open up new horizons for his development and interactions with other characters, making his image even more fascinating for fans of the game.
Sub-Zero
Sub-Zero's name is associated with two famous ninja. The first was Bi Han, who made a deal with Quan Chi and killed Hanzo Hasashi. He was a brutal and ruthless warrior. The second Sub-Zero was his younger brother, Kuai Liang. Unlike his older brother, Kuai Liang seeks revenge on Scorpion for Bi Han's death, but his character is more positive. Interestingly, Bi Han himself didn't disappear entirely: he became a shadow ninja and adopted the name Noob Saibot, opening up new horizons for his story. Kuai Liang, like his older brother, is a member of the Chinese Lin Kuei clan, which rivaled the Japanese Shirai Ryu. After the events of Mortal Kombat 2, the Lin Kuei clan decided to cyborgize their fighters. Cyrax and Sektor agreed to be transformed into cyborgs, while Sub-Zero and his friend Smoke refused. Kuai Liang managed to escape, while his comrades were not so lucky. This story highlights the conflict between tradition and modern technology in the Mortal Kombat world, and shows how the choice between freedom and constraint can change the fate of characters.
Sub-Zero was able to seize control of the Lin Kuei clan and direct it toward serving good. As its leader, he led the clan in protecting Earthrealm, altering its original goals. During the clan tournament, he chose Frost as his assistant, possessing similar freezing abilities. However, her arrogant and cruel nature led to her rapid death. Sub-Zero continued to follow his ideals, striving to make the world a better place and protecting the innocent from evil forces.
While searching for the burial place of Sub-Zero's apprentice, he discovered the tomb of his ancestors—a race possessing the ability to control cold. In this tomb, he also found new armor. However, Frost survived, descended into madness, and destroyed almost the entire Lin Kuei clan. In addition, Sub-Zero's new armor turned out to be cursed, which added to the difficulty of his fight against enemies and the upcoming test.

After 2011, Sub-Zero underwent cyborgization, which led to a change in his role in the story. In this aspect, he switched places with Smoke, who, in turn, became more human. Sub-Zero's cyborgization opened up new possibilities for his character and introduced fresh elements to the storylines.
Currently, Sub-Zero is Bi Han, who is dissatisfied with his service under Liu Kang. Meanwhile, Kuai Liang has become Scorpion. This character transformation in Mortal Kombat brings new storylines and dynamics to their relationships. The changes in the main characters' roles highlight the development of their characters and interactions, making the game even more engaging for fans of the series.
Smoke
Kuai Liang, known as Sub-Zero Jr., has a loyal friend and comrade in the Czech Tomas Vrbada, who was adopted into the Lin Kuei clan at an early age. Although Tomas was unable to escape the fate of a cyborg, he managed to retain his soul, making him unique among others. However, this did not save him from being captured by Shao Kahn. Tomas was freed by Noob Saibot, formerly known as Sub-Zero Bi Han. However, Noob had his own goals, and he sought to create an army of cyborg demons, which adds drama to the story of these characters.

In the 2011 reboot timeline, Smoke managed to avoid becoming a cyborg, but this didn't save him from death. He eventually became one of the necromancer Quan Chi's servants, significantly altering his destiny. This transformation led to new opportunities and challenges in his life, as well as a redefinition of his role in the Mortal Kombat universe. Smoke is no longer just a character, but a complex antagonist with a rich past and deep connections to other heroes and villains in the universe.
Smoke, a well-known character from the Mortal Kombat universe, remains Tomas Vrbada, Kuai Liang's loyal friend and a devoted member of the Lin Kuei clan. His story continues to evolve, emphasizing the importance of his role in the fight for justice and the protection of his comrades. Smoke embodies perseverance and loyalty, making him a key player in the conflict between realms.
Geras
First introduced in Mortal Kombat 11, Geras is a unique golem created by Kronika to carry out her bidding. He possesses the ability to self-repair, making him virtually indestructible. Even if his body parts are scattered across a significant distance, he can reassemble them and rebuild his body. This feature makes him one of the most interesting and difficult opponents in the game.

Geras currently serves as the Guardian of Time and Liu Kang's assistant. His role is to control the timelines and maintain balance in the Mortal Kombat world. Geras possesses unique abilities that allow him to manipulate time and space, making him a valuable ally in the fight against threats. His loyalty to Liu Kang and desire for stability make him a key figure in preventing destructive conflicts.

However, Sujinko then realized what he had done and decided to atone for his guilt.
