Many of the projects submitted for the nomination look very attractive, but the jury's preferences remain unknown. Lake: Immersion in the World Lake
Lake immerses players in the 1980s, setting of a small lakeside town where the main character, Meredith Weiss, spent her childhood. Longing to escape the bustle of the city, she decides to return home for a short stay. Over the course of two in-game weeks, Meredith delivers letters and packages to local residents, allowing her to rediscover her hometown and reconnect with her past. Lake offers a unique experience, combining exploration and character interaction to create an atmosphere of nostalgia and peace.

The concept for Lake was developed in 2017 by game director Dylan Nagel, who shared with the team a photo of a car driving along a picturesque lake. This idea of a tranquil drive inspired the developers to create a unique gameplay experience. As a result, they replaced the car with a mail truck, which allowed for more logic in the journeys and interactions with non-player characters (NPCs). This approach allowed players to deeply immerse themselves in the game's atmosphere and enjoy a meditative experience.

These achievements highlight the high quality of the story and the uniqueness of the gameplay, which makes Lake stand out among other games.
