Master: Neural networks through practical Training
Learn moreSometimes it can be tedious and lazy for a person to sort through numerous job openings, compare their requirements with the contents of their resume, and form a general idea of the labor market. For artificial intelligence, however, this is a simple task: in just a few moments, it can analyze offers, highlight both the strengths and weaknesses of a resume, and provide an objective assessment of both your own skills and the offers from employers.
In this article, I, Lena Solodkova, a contributor to the "Management" editorial board at Skillbox Media, will share my experience and discuss how artificial intelligence can support your job search. Since January 2025, I have been actively using neural networks, in particular ChatGPT, and almost every working day involves interaction with artificial intelligence. Since 2022, I've been working in HR content, allowing me to stay well-versed in current hiring trends.
In this article, I combine my professional experience in artificial intelligence and HR content creation with my genuine curiosity. I'm interested in how neural networks can help find the perfect job. I'll share my thoughts:
- Before you start working with neural networks, there are several key aspects to consider. First, you need to clearly define the problems you want to solve and understand what data you'll need to achieve them. It's important to consider the quality and quantity of available data, as they directly impact the effectiveness of model training. You should also consider choosing the neural network architecture that's most suitable for your task. Different types of networks, such as convolutional or recurrent, may perform differently on the same problem. Next, don't forget about the data preprocessing process: properly preparing the information will help improve the results.
Furthermore, you will need to choose the appropriate tools and platform for development, as this affects the speed and ease of use. Finally, it is important to remember the need to test and validate your model to ensure its reliability and accuracy. Taking all these points into account, you will be able to interact with neural networks more effectively and achieve your goals.
- To analyze your own resume, start by carefully examining its structure and content. Make sure your document is clearly organized and easy to read. Pay attention to formatting: use consistent fonts and sizes, as well as sufficient indents and headings.
Then move on to the content. Evaluate how completely and accurately you have presented your skills and achievements. It is important that the information is relevant and meets the requirements of the target position. Be sure to include specific results of your work, not just responsibilities.
It is also worth checking for keywords that may attract the attention of an employer or automated resume selection systems. Research the skills and qualifications in demand in your field and update your resume as needed.
Be mindful of grammar and spelling errors: mistakes can leave a negative impression. Ask someone else to review your resume—a fresh perspective can help identify any flaws you might have overlooked.
Finally, consider how your resume fits into the context of your career path. It should highlight your uniqueness and align with your professional goals.
- Analyzing job postings is an important step in the job search, helping you understand employers' requirements and identify the most suitable offers. To effectively analyze job postings, there are a few key steps to follow.
First, start by identifying your professional interests and skills. A clear understanding of your strengths and preferences will help you narrow down the field of openings. Next, research available job postings on various platforms, such as job boards, social media, and industry forums.
When browsing job postings, it's important to pay attention to keywords and phrases used in descriptions. This can give you insight into what skills and competencies are most valued in your field. Compare the requirements of different employers to understand which skills are in demand and which may be optional.
Don't forget to also analyze working conditions, such as work schedule, salary level, opportunities for career advancement, and corporate culture. Pay attention to employee reviews of the company, which can help you better understand what it's like to work there.
Finally, create a list of the job postings that interest you most and analyze them in more detail. This will allow you to prepare high-quality resumes and cover letters and increase your chances of successfully completing an interview.
- Creating a cover letter draft requires a certain structure and attention to detail. First, start by providing your contact information, including name, address, phone number, and email. Then, include the date you are writing the letter.
Next, enter the recipient's information: their name, job title, and organization address. This will help establish a personal connection and demonstrate your seriousness.
The next step is the greeting. Address the recipient by name if you know it; otherwise, use a general salutation such as "Dear Sirs."
In the body of the letter, state the purpose of your letter. Clearly and concisely explain why you are writing and what information or assistance you expect from the recipient. Make sure your message is logically structured and highlight the key points.
Conclude with a polite conclusion, thanking the recipient for their attention and expressing hope for further cooperation. Be sure to sign the letter with your name and job title.
Keep the text clear and concise, avoiding unnecessary complexity. Don't forget to proofread it for errors and typos before sending.
- Preparing for interviews requires careful work and attention to detail. First, you should familiarize yourself with the company you are applying to. Explore its history, culture, values, and current projects. This will help you understand what the employer expects and how you might fit into the team.
Next, be sure to analyze the job description. Pay attention to the key skills and requirements listed in the ad. Think about your achievements and experience that can demonstrate how you meet these criteria.
Don't forget to prepare answers to common questions, such as "Tell me about yourself" or "Why do you want to work here?" Practice will help you feel confident and natural during the conversation.
Also, it's a good idea to prepare questions to ask the interviewer. This will not only demonstrate your interest in the position but also help you better understand whether the company is a good fit for you.
Appearance is equally important. Choose neat and appropriate clothing that matches the company's corporate culture. Make sure you look professional and appropriate.
Finally, put yourself in a positive frame of mind and try to relax before the meeting. Confidence and calm will help you make a better impression during the interview.
- Neural networks can be helpful in various areas. For example, they can analyze large amounts of data, identifying patterns and trends that may not be obvious to humans. Neural networks are also actively used in medicine for diagnosing diseases, processing medical images, and developing individualized treatment plans.
Furthermore, such technologies can improve the user experience in online services by offering personalized recommendations based on previous interactions. In finance, neural networks are used to predict market trends and detect fraudulent transactions.
In education, they can adapt educational materials to the needs of each student, and in creative fields, they can generate new ideas, music, or even works of art. Thus, the capabilities of neural networks are diverse and cover many areas, significantly simplifying and improving processes.
- Tasks that are not recommended for outsourcing to neural networks include several key areas. First, this is strategic decision-making, which requires a deep understanding of context and human values. Neural networks can analyze data and suggest options, but the final decision must rest with humans, as it relies on nuances that machines cannot capture.
Secondly, such tasks include creative processes such as writing fiction or creating original works of art. While neural networks can generate text or images, they are incapable of truly understanding the emotions and depth of human experience necessary for creating genuine art.
It's also worth noting the need for personal interaction in psychology and therapy. Neural networks cannot replace human contact, which plays a vital role in these fields. Empathy and understanding are essential when working with feelings and emotions.
Furthermore, tasks involving ethical and moral dilemmas require human involvement. Neural networks can offer algorithmic solutions, but they lack the ethical understanding needed to evaluate the consequences of their actions.
Therefore, despite all the benefits that neural networks can provide, it is important to remember that there are areas where human intelligence and experience remain indispensable.
I tested all the examples below using ChatGPT (the GPT-4 version on the paid ChatGPT Plus plan), but other neural networks would also be suitable for these tests.
For example, YandexGPT effectively performs text analysis tasks and is able to suggest suitable wording for resumes, while GigaChat from Sber provides assistance in researching vacancies and creating cover letters.
Key aspects to consider before diving into the world of neural networks
In order for artificial intelligence to effectively assist in finding the right work, you must provide him with the most complete information about yourself and your preferences. Upload your resume or paste its text, indicate the vacancy you are interested in, the location, the desired income level and other relevant criteria.
The more detailed information you provide will lead to more effective results: the neural network will be able to identify suitable companies and analyze your strengths and weaknesses.

Please note that neural networks are not immune to errors and may provide overly general recommendations. Therefore, it is extremely important to verify all advice and results, in particular numbers, translations, and information about companies. Artificial intelligence is only a tool, and final responsibility for the results remains with you.
Also, please note that the neural network strives to provide exactly the information you want to receive. It adapts to the user's mood and requests, trying to be as supportive as possible. As a result, its answers may be overly optimistic or simplistic.
For example, when you ask for only positive aspects to be highlighted, artificial intelligence may highly value your resume, overlooking its shortcomings. Or they may offer a job search plan that seems reasonable but ignores current labor market conditions.
The neural network reflects your requests and formulations. If you ask it a simple question, the answer will be corresponding. Therefore, you should not only check the factual information, but also formulate questions that can help identify shortcomings. For example: "What is wrong here?", "What might cause concern for the employer?", "What weaknesses can be noticed in this resume?" This approach will allow you to receive more frank and useful answers.
Resume analysis methods using neural network technologies
Artificial intelligence can identify both the strengths and weaknesses of your resume. It will help you identify areas where specific data and quantitative indicators are missing, which skills are not described clearly enough, which facts should be highlighted and which can be excluded.
Please provide a file with your resume or paste its contents, provide a link to the vacancy you are interested in or briefly describe the desired position, and ask the AI to:
- Please pay attention to the organization of your resume, including such elements as the title, professional experience, and skills.
- Compare the terms and conditions stated in the job ad with your knowledge and professional achievements.
- Of course, I am ready to help you with editing. Please provide the text you would like to edit.
I have a resume (I am attaching it as a file or text). I intend to apply for the position (I will provide the job description below). Analyze how my experience matches the requirements and responsibilities of this vacancy. Please formulate:
- My key qualities match the criteria specified in the job description.
- Missing skills or vulnerabilities.
- Tips on how to highlight your experience in accordance with the requirements of this vacancy (what to emphasize in your resume and cover letter).

You can ask the neural network to analyze all sections of your resume in detail—such as skills, professional experience, and education—and provide an assessment or advice based on current labor market trends or the specifics of the target position.
Here is a list of my skills. Can you suggest which of them are relevant for the [job title] position, which don't seem deep enough, and which skills are worth adding, given labor market trends in 2025?

After making changes to the resume based on the recommendations received, it can be presented again to the neural network for analysis. Ask her to compare the previous and updated versions and provide feedback.
Job Analysis Methods Using Neural Network Technologies
Artificial intelligence can organize information by analyzing various job postings, identifying common skills, and highlighting those requirements that your resume does not meet. This will give you an idea of what employers currently value and which skills you should focus on.
For example, you can upload 5-10 job descriptions for the desired position into a chat with the neural network and ask it to conduct a comparative analysis. It will be able to classify skills and requirements, dividing them into categories: "required," "desirable," and "will be a plus."
Job postings for the position of [job title]. Analyze them and highlight:
— the most common skills and requirements (required);
— rare skills, the possession of which can provide a competitive advantage (preferred);
— unique skills that can be an advantage.
Create a final table consisting of three columns: "Required," "Desirable," and "Will be a plus." Also, analyze which of these criteria are already present in your resume, and which ones need to be supplemented or worded differently.

Creating a Cover Letter Draft
Artificial intelligence can quickly generate cover letter templates that can serve as a good basis. However, it is important to remember that using such samples without revision is not recommended, as employers often reject impersonal, standard texts.
We recommend adapting this letter so that it meets the requirements of the vacancy: you should mention the company's products, highlight your achievements, and express personal interest. This way, the standard text will become a more convincing and personalized appeal.
Please prepare a cover letter for the position of [job title] at [company name]. Attached is my resume, as well as several key achievements: [3-4 achievements]. The letter style should be formal, yet friendly. The length is no more than 150 words. The letter should reflect my interest in this company and highlight my experience that matches the requirements specified in the vacancy.

Focus on your successes. Artificial intelligence can suggest standard phrases, but you should replace them with specific examples and data from your experience, for example, mentioning an improvement in performance. This will help your letter stand out from the crowd.
You can also ask the artificial intelligence to reduce the length of the letter to 100-120 words, making it more readable on a smartphone screen. Since recruiters often view applications on mobile devices, it is important to keep the letter concise and divided into small paragraphs.
Effective Tips for Successful Interview Preparation
Employers highly value applicants who are aware of their strengths and weaknesses, can confidently talk about themselves, and remain calm when faced with unexpected questions. Without proper preparation, it's easy to get flustered in even the most basic situations, miss key points, or become overwhelmed by nervousness.
Artificial intelligence can streamline the preparation stage, for example, by generating a list of possible questions specific to the position. This could include familiar inquiries like "Tell me about yourself" or more complex ones like "What do you do if your team is behind schedule?"
Example inquiry: "I'm preparing for an interview for the [job title] at [company name]. Here's the job description: [insert text]." Please make a list of X questions that may arise during the interview - both standard ones and those related to my experience, motivation, and practical cases."

You can also use a neural network as a recruiter. This approach creates the effect of live communication. You provide answers to questions, and artificial intelligence comments on them: it indicates which of your answers look convincing and which need improvement.
Conduct a simulated interview with me: ask questions one at a time, wait for me to answer, and after each answer, provide your assessment - what was successful and what could be improved.

As part of such a training interview, you can ask the neural network a series of difficult and uncomfortable questions, such as: "What caused you to leave your current job?", "When do you plan to have children?", "How did it happen that at your age and with your experience you are applying for a position as a beginner?"
This approach helps you hone your reactions in advance and set personal boundaries. If similar questions arise during a real interview, you'll be confident and able to demonstrate without unnecessary anxiety which topics are acceptable to you and which should be avoided.
Additional capabilities of neural networks in the employment process
Neural network technologies are used not only in processing resumes and analyzing job offers. They can also expand your search horizons and help you stay calm before an interview with a potential employer.
Creating a list of companies. Artificial intelligence can identify potential employers that you may not have known about. You only need to indicate parameters such as field of activity, geographic location, business scale, and type of employment, after which you will receive a generated list.
Name 20 Russian IT companies working in the fintech field and opening vacancies for remote employees. For each company, provide a brief overview and highlight those that are most actively recruiting for the position of [your position].

In addition, you can request a list of corporate values of the company you are interested in, as well as links to reviews from employees who work or have worked there. This will help you better understand the working conditions in this organization.

We recommend that you carefully check the data provided neural network, especially when it comes to its conclusions. Request citations or links to relevant materials, and then review them yourself.
Adaptation and translation of resumes. If your goal is employment abroad, the neural network can adjust your resume to the requirements of a specific country: format dates, convert amounts to the appropriate currency, and include important terms from job descriptions.
It is important to note that if your goal is employment with a company that uses a different language, it is important to be proficient in that language and not rely entirely on artificial intelligence. A resume can open the door to an interview, but it is knowledge of the language that will be the decisive factor in communicating with the employer and team members.
Rewrite and adapt my resume for job search in [country]. Change the dates to MMM YYYY format and the currency to [€, $]. Include keywords that are typical for job postings for [job title]. Save the volume.

Preparing for an interview. Artificial intelligence can offer various techniques to reduce anxiety. For example, these could include breathing exercises, effective concentration techniques, or short reminder phrases to help you maintain focus. These techniques will help you approach the interview more relaxed, reducing anxiety and putting your best foot forward.
I have an interview scheduled for the [job title]. Can you recommend anxiety-reducing techniques that will help me focus? Please develop a preparation plan for the day before the interview and a checklist of actions 15 minutes before the interview so that I can feel more confident and calm.

Tasks in the job search process that are better done independently than to trust AI
There are stages, that must be overcome alone. This is primarily because ultimately, it is you who will be hired, not an artificial intelligence capable of creating attractive formulations and forming the image of the "perfect candidate."
Test tasks. Entrusting these to artificial intelligence would be unfair. The employer is interested in assessing your skills, not the results of a program that has access to information from the entire network.
Even if you manage to move on to the next stage—be it a technical interview or a job offer—the discrepancy between your competencies will eventually become obvious. Therefore, relying on test tasks performed by neural networks is extremely risky: it can negatively impact your reputation and close the possibility of employment with the company.
Personalized self-narrative. Your motivation, biography, and communication style are critical for the employer—candidates are often selected not only based on professional skills and experience, but also on the overall impression they make. While artificial intelligence can create elegant copy, it lacks soul.
Photos. Using neural networks to generate images for your resume is not the best option. While artificially generated photos may look attractive, your actual appearance during an interview may differ greatly, which is sure to raise eyebrows. It's much wiser to use a real photo: choose a neutral background, wear business attire, and display a natural smile. A photo taken with a phone will be more effective than a perfectly edited photo generated by a generator.
Decision-making is a process in which a neural network can present various options and structure them, but it shouldn't make the final choice. Whether to leave your current job or accept a new offer depends on your individual circumstances, personal values, and emotional state. Artificial intelligence cannot adequately assess your priorities, financial circumstances, or comfort level within the team. You should always be responsible for your decisions.
There are several effective approaches to deepening your knowledge of neural networks. First, you should start by learning the basics of theory, which can be done by reading specialized literature and taking online courses. Scientific articles and books on machine learning provide important concepts and methods that underlie neural networks.
Furthermore, the practical application of knowledge is of great importance. Implementing your own projects and participating in competitions such as Kaggle will not only reinforce your theoretical knowledge but also develop your programming skills. This will provide an opportunity to encounter real-world problems and find solutions, which is an important part of learning.
Don't forget about communities and forums where the latest advances in neural networks are discussed. Sharing experiences with colleagues and professionals will help broaden your horizons and generate new ideas for your work.
Additionally, video tutorials and lectures from experts in this field can be very useful. They enable visual perception of information and a better understanding of complex topics.
Finally, regularly updating your knowledge of the latest technologies and methods in neural networks is key, as this field is rapidly developing. Subscribing to scientific journals and attending conferences will help you stay abreast of current trends and innovations.

To achieve the best results when working with neural networks, it is useful to consider the experience of those who interact with artificial intelligence on a daily basis. Here are some tips that can help you in this process.
First, it is important to formulate requests as clearly and specifically as possible. The more clearly you express your thought or task, the more accurate the answer you will receive. Incomplete or ambiguous questions can lead to inappropriate results, so try to avoid ambiguity.
Second, don't be afraid to experiment. Artificial intelligence can offer unexpected solutions, so try different approaches and wording. Sometimes the slightest changes to a request can significantly impact the result.
Also, remember the importance of context. Providing additional information or clarification can improve the quality of the answer. Neural networks often work better when they have a more complete understanding of your situation or goals.
Also, don't forget about the need to verify information. Although artificial intelligence is capable of generating a variety of ideas and solutions, critical thinking and attention to detail will always be beneficial. Make sure you fact-check and analyze the proposed options.
Finally, it's important to stay open to new possibilities and technologies. The world of artificial intelligence is constantly evolving, and new tools can significantly expand your horizons. Stay up-to-date with new trends and updates to make the most of all available resources.
